Hospital Based Procedures

Welcome to OHVI’s hospital-based cardiovascular procedures section, where our expert cardiologists offer a comprehensive range of advanced interventions to diagnose, treat, and manage various cardiovascular conditions. From intricate catheterization procedures and pulmonary embolism interventions to device implantations and rhythm management, our state-of-the-art facilities and skilled team ensure the highest standards of care for every patient.

Consultations and Subsequent Visits for Hospitalized Patients:
Our cardiologists provide expert consultations and follow-up care for patients admitted to the hospital for various cardiovascular conditions. With a focus on personalized treatment plans, they collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive management and optimal outcomes.

Diagnostic Complex Catheterizations:
Our cardiologists are skilled in performing diagnostic complex catheterizations, including Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Laser, Rotational/Orbital, Shockwave Lithotripsy, and Atherectomies. These procedures allow for precise evaluation and treatment of complex coronary artery disease, improving blood flow to the heart and reducing the risk of cardiac events.

Pulmonary Angiograms and Thrombectomies for Extensive Pulmonary Embolism:
In cases of extensive pulmonary embolism, our cardiologists perform pulmonary angiograms and thrombectomies to diagnose and remove blood clots from the pulmonary arteries, restoring normal blood flow to the lungs and preventing further complications.

PTA/Stent/Atherectomy of Bilateral Upper and Lower Extremity including Renal Arteries:
Our cardiologists perform interventions such as Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty (PTA), stent placement, and atherectomy to treat blockages in the arteries of the upper and lower extremities, as well as the renal arteries. These procedures improve blood flow and relieve symptoms associated with peripheral arterial disease and renal artery stenosis.

Carotid Artery Stenting:
For patients with carotid artery disease, our cardiologists perform carotid artery stenting to open narrowed or blocked arteries in the neck, reducing the risk of stroke and improving blood flow to the brain.

IVC Filter Placement and Removal:
Our cardiologists perform Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter placement and removal procedures to prevent and manage venous thromboembolism, ensuring optimal filter positioning and patient safety.

Impella and Intra-Aortic Balloon Placement:
In cases of severe heart failure or acute coronary syndrome, our cardiologists may utilize advanced mechanical circulatory support devices such as Impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps to improve cardiac function and stabilize patients.

New Pacemaker and ICD Implantation, Removal, Generator Changes:
Our cardiologists specialize in the implantation, removal, and management of pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), ensuring optimal device function and patient safety.

Loop Recorder Implants:
For patients requiring long-term monitoring of heart rhythm, our cardiologists perform loop recorder implantation procedures, allowing for continuous recording and analysis of cardiac activity over extended periods.

Interpretation of Non-invasive Cardiac and Vascular Studies:
Our cardiologists are experts in interpreting non-invasive cardiac and vascular studies, including echocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular ultrasounds, providing accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment recommendations.

Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE):
When more detailed imaging of the heart is necessary, our cardiologists perform transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) to visualize cardiac structures from inside the esophagus, allowing for precise assessment of cardiac function and anatomy.

Electrical Cardioversions:
Our cardiologists perform electrical cardioversions to restore normal heart rhythm in patients with atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias, improving symptoms and reducing the risk of complications.

CardioMEMS Implant for Heart Failure:
For patients with heart failure, our cardiologists offer CardioMEMS implantation, a minimally invasive procedure that monitors pulmonary artery pressures remotely, allowing for early detection of worsening heart failure and timely intervention.

Renal Denervation for Uncontrolled Hypertension:
In cases of uncontrolled hypertension, our cardiologists perform renal denervation procedures to disrupt nerve activity in the renal arteries, reducing blood pressure and improving cardiovascular health.

Barostim Batwire Implant for Barostim Therapy:
For patients with resistant hypertension or heart failure, our cardiologists may recommend Barostim therapy, which involves the implantation of a Barostim Batwire device to modulate neural signals, reducing blood pressure and improving cardiac function.
