Venous Disease Therapies:

Radio Frequency (RF) Thermal Ablations of Superficial Veins (GSV/SSV): RF thermal ablation is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes heat generated by radiofrequency energy to close off abnormal veins, such as the great saphenous vein (GSV) and small saphenous vein (SSV). This technique effectively treats venous insufficiency and varicose veins, providing patients with relief from symptoms and improving the appearance of their legs.

Sclerotherapy for Superficial Varicose Veins: Sclerotherapy involves the injection of a special solution into varicose veins, causing them to collapse and fade away. This non-surgical treatment is particularly effective for smaller varicose veins and spider veins, resulting in smoother, clearer skin.

Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy including Phlebectomy: Ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy combines ultrasound imaging with the injection of a foam sclerosant to treat larger varicose veins that are not suitable for traditional sclerotherapy alone. Additionally, phlebectomy may be performed alongside sclerotherapy to physically remove problematic veins through tiny incisions, further improving venous circulation and cosmesis.

Thrombectomy for DVT: Thrombectomy is a procedure to remove blood clots (thrombi) from deep veins, commonly performed in cases of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) where the clot poses a significant risk of complications such as pulmonary embolism. This intervention restores blood flow, reduces the risk of long-term complications, and promotes healing.

Diagnostic and Interventional Procedures performed in our Cath Lab:

Angiographies: Angiography is a diagnostic imaging technique used to visualize blood vessels in various parts of the body, providing detailed information about their structure and function. This procedure helps in the diagnosis and treatment planning of conditions such as arterial blockages, aneurysms, and vascular malformations.

Cardiac Catheterization and Coronary Angiography including RHC: Cardiac catheterization is a procedure used to diagnose and treat heart conditions by inserting a catheter into the heart chambers or blood vessels. Coronary angiography, a type of cardiac catheterization, specifically evaluates the coronary arteries for blockages or narrowing that may lead to heart disease. Right heart catheterization (RHC) assesses the function and pressures within the right side of the heart, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions such as pulmonary hypertension and heart failure.

Carotid Angiography: Carotid angiography is a diagnostic procedure that examines the carotid arteries in the neck using contrast dye and X-rays. It helps identify blockages or narrowing in these arteries, which can increase the risk of stroke if left untreated.

Abdominal Angiogram with Angiogram of bilateral leg arteries (PTA, Atherectomy, Stenting of Renal and bilateral extremity stenosis: Abdominal angiography evaluates blood flow in the abdominal arteries, including those supplying the kidneys and lower extremities. Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA), atherectomy, and stenting are interventional procedures performed during angiography to treat arterial blockages and restore blood flow to affected areas.

CO2 Angiography of Renal and Lower Extremities: CO2 angiography uses carbon dioxide gas as a contrast medium instead of iodinated contrast agents, reducing the risk of allergic reactions and kidney damage in patients with impaired renal function. It is particularly useful in imaging patients with renal artery disease or peripheral arterial disease.

Venous and Intravascular Ultrasound of Iliac Veins and Stenting: Venous and intravascular ultrasound imaging is used to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities in the veins and arteries. This technique helps guide interventions such as venous stenting, which involves placing a stent to support narrowed or obstructed veins, restoring proper blood flow.

Pulmonary Artery Angiography and Thrombectomy: Pulmonary artery angiography is a procedure to visualize the blood vessels in the lungs using contrast dye and X-rays. It aids in the diagnosis of conditions affecting the pulmonary circulation, such as pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary artery thrombectomy involves removing blood clots from the pulmonary arteries to improve oxygenation and prevent further complications.

Radiofrequency Renal Denervation for Severe Hypertension: Radiofrequency renal denervation is a minimally invasive procedure that disrupts the nerves in the renal arteries responsible for regulating blood pressure. This treatment is indicated for patients with resistant hypertension who do not respond to medication alone, offering a potential long-term solution to control blood pressure and reduce cardiovascular risk.

Internal Device Placement – Loop Recorder: An internal loop recorder is a small implantable device used to monitor heart rhythm over an extended period, typically for patients with suspected arrhythmias or unexplained symptoms such as palpitations or fainting spells. This device continuously records electrical activity in the heart, helping diagnose and manage cardiac conditions effectively.
