Stress Test
An electrocardiogram administered as the patient exercises under controlled conditions, typically on a treadmill or stationary bicycle at varying speeds and inclines. This test aids in identifying heart irregularities, diseases, and damage.

Echocardiogram (ECHO)
Conducted in our ICAEL certified ECHO laboratory, this procedure utilizes sound waves to generate a moving image of the patient’s heart on a video screen. Your physician employs an echocardiogram to assess the heart’s thickness, size, function, motion pattern, and structure of the four heart valves.

Nuclear Stress Test
A supervised evaluation wherein physical exercise (treadmill) or medication is utilized to stress the patient’s heart. Monitoring is conducted using an EKG device, while a radioactive tracer is injected. Post-procedure, an image of the patient’s heart is captured. Following a subsequent rest image, the physician interprets the results.

Doppler (Venous and Carotid)
A non-invasive assessment of blood flow in the major veins and arteries of the arms and legs, as well as in the extracranial cerebrovascular system.

Holter Monitor
A 24-hour electrocardiogram (EKG) temporarily attached to patients to continuously record the heart’s electrical activity during daily activities.

Vascular Angiography
A procedure to visualize the vascular system through radiographic imaging following the injection of a contrast material.

Cardiac Computed Tomography Scanning
A non-invasive diagnostic technique utilizing a combination of x-rays and computer technology to create detailed images of structures inside the body. CT imaging allows for comprehensive visualization of organs and blood vessels, aiding in diagnosis. At BHC, we utilize the Toshiba Aquilion 80-slice CT scanner to ensure superior imaging quality.

Cardiac PET (Positron Emission Tomography) Scan
A nuclear imaging test utilizing radioactive tracers injected into the bloodstream to produce three-dimensional images of the heart. PET scans aid in diagnosing coronary artery disease (CAD) and heart muscle damage.

Cardiac Calcium Scoring
A method of assessing coronary artery disease risk by measuring calcium deposits in the coronary arteries. This score helps determine the likelihood of developing symptomatic coronary artery disease and guides treatment decisions.
